Author Interview with Michelle S. Pape. Michelle is the Author of The True Story Child of Steel

Tell us a little bit about yourself: :
I am 47 years old and live in Ocala National Forest with my Arabian Horses. Right now I work in Medical Sales. I have in the past owned an Aquarium Business, Underwater Creations Inc. and designed and built many reef aquariums for homes and businesses in South Florida. I have also had the opportunity to travel in my late 20’s and early 30’s. I enjoyed scuba diving in the Red Sea, Egypt and Fiji -Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. I enjoy traveling to exotic places such as: Jordan, Egypt, Nepal, India and the Amazon Rain Forest. I love animals and am a huge environmentalist. I am very active on animal rescue websites worldwide, signing many petitions to help save and rescue abused animals.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?:
Actually, I am not a writer at all. I felt deep in my soul that God wanted me to write, Child of Steel and that I would be able to help a lot of people rise up out of the ashes, overcome adversity and reach their God given goals and dreams.

How long does it take you to write a book?:
It took me 15 years to write, Child of Steel. It is my life’s work. It is very hard to write a book if you are not a writer.

Do you have a favorite book or work that you’ve written? If so, why? :
Child of Steel is the only book I will ever write. It is written from the soul….written for humanity. It is the legacy that I leave behind.

What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?:
When every inspiration hits me

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?:
Well, It has been hard because I am not a writer. So….I guess my ability to write from the soul and not be afraid to write it down.

How do books get published?
This is my first one. I found Mind Stir Media online for self publishing and liked their vision.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?:
Ride my Arabian Horses, play with my cats and aquariums. I also like to travel when I can. I also am very active with animal rescue.

When did you write your first book and how old were you?:
Well, It has taken me 15 years. I wrote a first draft as age 30, but knew in my soul it was not what God wanted. It was only at age 45-46 that I was able to have the courage, fortitude and strength to finally be able to write, Child of Steel

Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?:
From my soul

What does your family think of your writing?:
Well, they certainly know who I am now. It is a very deep work—-I do not hold back.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?:
My relationship with God and my trusting in God to write down what he wanted me to say

How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?:
1, Child of Steel

Do you have any suggestions to help me become a better writer? If so, what are they?
Follow your soul. Write what you feel in your soul. Do not let others tell you what to write about.

Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?:
YES, a lot. On my facebook page: Child of Steel. I am very happy to see that the book seems to be helping and inspiring a lot of people worldwide

Do you like to create books for kids or adults? and Why?:
no, not my thing

What do you think makes a good story?:
A True story, Child of Steel is a true story.

As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?:
no, I had suffered from extreme child abuse and was not allowed to dream about anything—except to be FREE

My book inspires the reader to reach for courage, fortitude and strength in their own lives to be able to rise out of the ashes and triumph. I help the reader to overcome the adversity and negativity in their daily experiences to be able to reach their God given goals and dreams and be all that they can in this life.

What is one take-away from your book that you hope readers identify with? :
That I am just like them…..a real person trying to lift and inspire others to go after their goals and dreams.
